Life hits differently after your reproductive years. Most women enter this season of life and are caught off-guard. Midlife for women is a time of significant transition and change, often marked by shifts in metabolic function due to fluctuating and falling hormones. This stage presents unique health challenges, including potential increases in cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, and certain cancers, as well as psychological changes related to work, family, and relationships. However, midlife can also be a time of growth and empowerment, with opportunities to focus on personal well-being and proactively manage your health for a longer, more joyful life.

Handwriting can have a range of advantages for the brain, including a calming effect, coordination of the left and right brain, boosting cognitive skills, inspiring creativity, sharpening aging minds, and improving memory. It also involves more of the brain than typing does.
While digital devices offer numerous benefits, over-reliance can lead to cognitive offloading. This is when we rely on external tools, such as smartphones or computers, to remember information for us, potentially impacting our memory and motor skills. Therefore it’s important to strike a balance between the convenience of digital tools and the cognitive benefits of handwriting. The key is to incorporate handwriting into our daily routines, whether it’s jotting down notes, simply doodling on a notepad, or using MIDIMANUAL workshops.

Please do! Hopefully they have additional training in women’s health past their reproductive years, but if they’re like the majority of health care professionals, they do not. I created MIDIMANUAL to teach women about options they have for supporting their health in their 40s and beyond, from nutrition to natural medicine to medical options. Further, MIDIMANUAL will empower women in how to advocate for themselves with their doctors and seek the tests and support they need to feel their best.
